Abstract

Buildings can be understood as cultural artifacts that, through the generic functions of space - occupation and movement - produce and reproduce social logics. From this premise, the effects of changes in spatial permeability are analyzed through the concepts of type-space and types of movement - fully closed / fully open, as defined by Bill Hillier. The Memorial Minas Gerais Vale and the Minas e do Metal museums, originally conceived to house state secretariats of the State of Minas Gerais, are analyzed. with the objective of analyzing the transformations of the spatial structure and its effects as the movement system.
